The second batch of Indian border traders is ready to enter Chinese territory of Tibet from Lipulekh pass as the Indian administration is waiting the nod of Chinese authorities to allow the second batch to enter Tibet, according to Ashish Joshi, SDM, Dharchula and designated trade officer for border trade from Lipulekh pass.

” We have send a list of 32 traders with their 36 helpers to Chinese authorities in Tibet. We are waiting the nod from them as soon as  we will receive a positive reply, d the second trader’s batch will enter Tibet with their goods,” said the trade officer.

The first batch traders have also demanded some more goods from India to sell in Tibet. The second batch will take the required goods as and when they enter into Tibet.

The first batch of 20 traders that had gone Tibet from Lipulekh pass on August 1, this year, went without fresh stock of goods, as they had already left Rs 1 crore worth goods dumped there in 2019 when the trade was abruptly closed due to Corona epidemic. They are presently doing their trade in Taklakot mart of Tibet.
