Ethical Communication is Essential in the Digital Age

Associate Editor of The Hindu Business Line, Shishir Sinha said that the digital age has certainly made communication easier, but the rapid flow of information on social media has also made misinformation and disinformation a major challenge. In such a scenario, it is essential to verify the authenticity of any information before sharing it and give priority to ethical communication.
He was addressing the students at Graphic Era Deemed University today. Shishir Sinha introduced the students to the power and importance of communication. Explaining the basics of communication, he said that the first step for becoming an effective communicator is being a good listener. He said, The more you listen, the more you learn. Listening attentively not only develops better understanding but also makes communication more effective. He said that in today’s world, speaking well alone is not enough but effective communication also requires expressing one’s thoughts clearly and using the right words and tone. Communication is not merely a skill but a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.
Through his presentation, Shishir Sinha explained various aspects of communication, including the basics of communication, effective communication, body language, and the appropriate use of tone and words. He also explained the importance of the Seven C’s of Communication and the Rule of Three. The session was organized by the School of Management of Graphic Era Deemed University.
