Unable to bear the loss of her only son, mother committed suicide

In a tragic turn of events, a mother committed suicide after the sudden death of her young son, here today. The mother committed suicide by jumping into River Saryu after her only 14 years old son died following cardiac arrest while running in a field in Madegaon village near Wadda today.
“The dead body of Pushpa Joshi was recovered by police from river Saryu today. The woman had jumped into river with the intention of ending her life as she was perturbed after her only son died today morning while running in Jaulkhet ground near Wadda today,” said Lalit Joshi, SHO of Pithoragarh police station.
According to the incidence, after her son Jatin (14), fell unconscious in the ground while running, she took him to district hospital where the doctors declared him dead. On hearing about the death of her only son, the woman reached taxi stand and boarded a taxi to Ghat,30 kms away. On reaching at ghat, she came out from taxi and jumped into flowing river from where her body was recovered later. ” The local people and taxi driver acted swiftly to recover the woman from the river but she had died by then”, said the police officer.
Both the bodies have been handed over to relatives after postmortem.
