Political decency by Congress leader Suryakant Dhasmana becomes embarrassment for BJP

It was politics with a difference. While it speaks volumes about political decency but on the other hand it became embarrassing for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), today. It was the visit of Senior Uttarakhand Congress vice-President Suryakant Dhasmana to the residence of Vijay park councillor Amita Singh which attracted the attention of the people.
Although being in opposite camps, politically, Suryakant Dhasmana showing decency, decorum and good will visited Amita Singh and her family who had been under trauma. Suryakant Dhasmana visited the Balliwala Chowk residence of senior BJP leader and Vijay Park Councilor Amita Singh this afternoon to inquire about the well-being of her family.
It is noteworthy that on the night of the previous Tuesday, a domestic help employed at Amita Singh’s home had spiked the family’s dinner with a sedative. All family members fell unconscious, after which the servant fled with valuables, including jewellery, cash, and mobile phones. The servant had first ensured that everyone was in a deep sleep before carrying out this heinous act. Amita Singh informed that she had hired the servant as a cook some time ago through a Delhi-based agency.
Expressing deep concern over this distressing incident, Suryakant Dhasmana spoke to Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Parmendra Singh Dobhal over the phone and demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits. The SSP assured that the police would arrest the culprits and solve the case quickly, regardless of the circumstances. He also urged the Station House Officer (SHO) of Vasant Vihar police station to ensure effective action.
It was an embarrassing moment for the BJP leaders and workers present there as Suryakant Dhasmana took to task the BJP government over the deteriorating law and order situation in the entire state particularly in the capital city of Dehradun. He remarked that the rising number of such incidents in the capital is extremely worrying and added that the police should also verify the agencies that facilitate the hiring of domestic help.
