New communication technologies will improve future

Dehradun, March 16

Technological advancements in communication systems were discussed by the experts on the second day of the International Conference on “Device Intelligence Computing and Communication Technology’, organized at Graphic Era Deemed University, here today.

Dr.  Sanjay Kumar of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Ranchi mentioned that the boundaries of communication technologies are getting eliminated. In the upcoming future, communication through 6G technology will not only involve listening and viewing but also utilizing physical capabilities like touching, smelling, and tasting, he said.

Dr. Kumar Vaibhav Srivastava from IIT Kanpur said that the use of MIMO antennas in wireless systems helps in achieving high data rates, signal quality, and better coverage. He also elaborated on the functioning of MIMO antenna systems.

Dr. Sumit Kumar Mandal from Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore, discussed about the energy-efficient 2.5D architecture for machine learning applications through slides. Harsh Sharma from Washington State University America via online mode highlighted the various aspects of Data Driven Design, Floret Chipsets and Neural Network. More than 60 research papers were presented on the second day of the conference.

A Faculty Development Program was also organized on this occasion. Dr. Nicola Marchetti from Trinity College Dublin said that coping with the future challenges of complex communication with new technologies such as drones, Internet of Everything, efficient transportation systems, and other emerging technologies will become easier. These technologies will bring significant changes to the communication landscape in the future.

The conference was jointly organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with the Defense Research and Development Organization. HOD Dr. Irfanul Hasan, along with Dr. Abhay Sharma, Dr. Mridul Gupta, and Dr. Chandni Tiwari, were also present at the conference.
