Graphic Era to provide educational facilities for children of farmers: Dr. Ghanshala

Dehradun, August 15

Founder and President of Graphic Era group of institutions Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, while hoisting the national flag on Independence Day, said that to give true meaning to the slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” it is necessary to provide educational facilities for farmers’ children as well.

Addressing the gathering after the flag hoisting ceremony at Graphic Era Deemed University, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has made the entire world realise how advanced India is in the field of technology. The way India demonstrated its capability and strength during this operation has now led to foreign countries placing orders for defence equipment with India. India has changed. “Today’s India not only takes pride in its glorious traditions but also makes a strong mark on the global stage with modern technological progress. From advanced weaponry to cyber warfare capabilities, our armed forces are capable of facing every challenge head-on,” he said.

Highlighting Graphic Era’s contribution towards national service, Dr. Ghanshala said that the university is already providing free education to the children of many martyred soldiers as well as its Class IV employees. Now, to give real meaning to the slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” a plan is being made to encourage and support the children of small-scale farmers in education. He also shared that recently, Graphic Era created a new milestone by securing placements for 30 students in Amazon, a global company. Through a special tie-up with Amazon, more than 5,000 students will benefit from specialised training opportunities, making India proud both nationally and internationally.

Referring to the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle, especially by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and many other freedom fighters, Dr. Ghanshala urged that the new generation must be repeatedly told about their struggles and sacrifices so that children are inspired to do something meaningful for the country.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh said that the sacrifices of the freedom fighters are the very foundation of our independence, upon which our present and future stand. He said that our brave heroes sacrificed their lives to show us the dawn of a free India, and now it is our responsibility to strengthen that freedom with knowledge, harmony, and responsibility.

On this occasion, the Founder President awarded a cash prize of ₹1 lakh to NCC cadets for their excellent performance and ₹21,000 to the team of Shriyansh Navani, Pratishtha Sharma, Vaibhav Joshi, Vansh Khankariyal, Aditya Joshi, and others for their outstanding cultural performances based on patriotism. The NCC parade was led by Senior Under Officer Vinayak Thakur and Under Officer Varun Adhikari. Pro-Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Sharma, former Chancellor Dr. S. R. Khandooja, and many officials, teachers, and students attended the ceremony. The programme was conducted by Dr. M. P. Singh.
