‘Tejaswini’ and ‘Mauli’ receive a grand welcome at Graphic Era University

Dehradun, Jan 27

A day before the commencement of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand, the torch of the event ‘Tejaswini’ and mascot ‘Mauli’ received a grand welcome at Graphic Era University, today.

Te torch for the 38th National Games started from the District Sports Office and reached Graphic Era Deemed University in the morning,today. The faculty members and students at Graphic Era greeted the torch and mascot with applause and great enthusiasm. The torch was brought to Graphic Era Deemed University’s ground by Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh. On this occasion, he said that the torch of the National Games symbolizes hope, determination and the unity of athletes and it is necessary to nurture the spirit of sports in children from a young age as it not only enhances physical and intellectual abilities but also inspires them to become better human beings.

Excited students were seen taking photographs with ‘Tejaswini’ and ‘Mauli’. Later, the torch and mascot of the National Games were sent off from the Silver Jubilee Convention Centre. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Prof. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Dean International Affairs Dr. D. R. Gangodkar, International Baseball players Ravinder Mehta and Sukhwinder Singh Randhawa, National Football coach Sunil Kumar, Graphic Era’s student and Archer Jai Singh, faculty members and students were also present.
