‘Nomadic Elephant’ military exercise between India, Mongolia concludes

 The 18th edition of the joint military exercise between the Indian and Mongolian armies, ‘Nomadic Elephant’, concluded in Pithoragarh on October 2, the Defence PRO said in a press release.

The exercise, which began on September 20, was conducted in three phases. The integration phase was held from September 20 to 23, followed by the joint training phase from September 24 to 30. The exercise concluded with the validation phase on October 1 and 2, Lt Col Chetan Singh Kabsuri, Public Relations Officer (Defence), said.

According to the press release, personnel of both armies shared their experiences of joint training and exchanged best practices adopted during the exercise.

“Both armies underwent training in technical drills, intelligence and surveillance, demonstration of technology, heliborne operations, management of casualties during wartime, specialised operations, drone operations and cyber security,” the press release said.

The exercise provided an opportunity to enhance interoperability and strengthen cooperation between the two armies through joint training and exchange of operational experience.
