Student Grafest-2026 Begins in Grand Style
Students’ Stage Talent Sets Graphic Era Abuzz
Dehradun, 22 October. As ‘Student Grafest-2026’ kicked off in grand style at Graphic Era, the entire campus was filled with the colours of melody and rhythm, along with energy and excitement. With the buzz of songs, dance and rap, the young performers made the very first evening a memorable one.
At the ground of Graphic Era Deemed University today, such a fair of youthful talent was set up that wherever the eye turned, only splendour was to be seen. Here the echo of music, there the thump of dancing feet, and elsewhere the roar of applause: the entire ground appeared to be immersed in an ocean of energy and revelry. The programme began with the Solo Singing (Western) competition, in which Maanya, Wakhile, Shauryaa Dogra, Anaya Donegan and Anshika Sharma held the audience captive for a long time on waves of Western tunes.
After the melodies, it was the turn of dancing feet. In the Western/Freestyle category of Solo Dance, Bhavya Deshwal, Kritika, Om Rajput, Kanu Sharma and Gaurav Singh Rawat drove everyone wild with their lightning-like agility, while in the Classical/Folk category, Bhavya Mittal, Piyush Rana, Anubha Kandpal, Ridhima Negi and Ishani Bhardwaj won everyone’s heart with their expressions and rhythmic movements. In the Western/Freestyle category of Group Dance, Zenith, Crew Incredibles, D-Dynamix, Flow Catalysts and The Trons created a stir with their modern style, while in the Classical/Folk category, Team Ramailocha, Vedha, Natrang, Saadhna Rangmanch and Dehradun Bhangra Club spread the colours of tradition and turned the atmosphere into a cultural celebration.
This dazzling start to the first day of Student Grafest-2026 proved that Grafest is not merely an event, but the biggest celebration of young dreams taking flight.
On this occasion, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, said that the aim of Grafest is to make students not only skilled professionals but also fine human beings. He said that such events make it possible to experience diverse cultures and to develop team spirit, discipline and stage talent, and that various competitions connect future professionals with practical understanding and social responsibility.
At Student Grafest, the University’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Santosh S. Sarraf, Registrar Dr. Naresh Kumar Sharma, heads of various departments, faculty members, and thousands of students gathered on the ground were seen humming along to the songs and immersed in the colours of festivity.
