A three-day 3rd Belgo-Indian Network for Astronomy and Astrophysics (BINA) International workshop was organized by Aryabhata Research Institute for Observational Sciences (ARIES) at a private university in Bhimtal, near here. Apart from India and Belgium, scientists from many other countries including America presented their research works.
The Belgian ambassador to India and other Indian dignitaries and scientists participated. The new research progress regarding Astrophysics and Astronomy were discussed in the workshop.
Astronomers from India and Belgium along with scientists from USA, Canada, Poland, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Ethiopia and Kenya discussed the cutting-edge developments in space science and their achievements and scientific cooperation.
Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to India during the inaugural session said, “The Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) work together on cyber security, biosciences, marine science, black holes, climate change and many other exciting projects and this workshop will enhance the scientific potential of India-Belgium cooperation”.
