Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Dharchula has asked officials of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to investigate and informed in next 5 days on how some pilgrims could enter restricted border region without taking inner line passes.
“I’ve asked ITBP to report on it as some tourists were reported in social media to have reached restricted area beyond Chiyalekh in Vyans valley without having inner line passes,” said the SDM.
Inner line passes are issued to ‘Adi Kailash’ and other pilgrims to enter the restricted region for pilgrimage after the yatra season is announced. “Noone can, except local villagers and security forces, enter the region without a valid inner line passes that is issued by SDM, Dharchula,” said the Dharchula SDM.
It was reported in social media some days ago that transporters have taken some pilgrims to ‘Adi Kailash’ region deceiving ITBP security, without inner line passes.
“The reality could be revealed after ITBP submits us the investigation report,” said the SDM.
