Jageshwar Dham, Adi Kailash circuits to be developed

A Detailed Project Report( DPR) has been prepared by administration to develop ‘Jageshwar Dham’ temples in Almora and ‘Adi Kailash’ region in Pithoragarh district, on the lines of ‘Char Dham’ temples of Badrinath and Kedarnath as religious pilgrimage places, Deepak Rawat, Commissioner of Kumaon region said at Haldwani today.

The DPR to develop these religious places in Kumaon region have been prepared after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited these places on October 12, last year.

“The DPR to develop these religious places has been prepared under ‘Manas Mandir Mala Mission’ of the state. Both the DPRs have been prepared after detailed consultation with concerned temple committees, local people, subject specialists, and district administration who have advised to keep the traditional structure of temple intact,” said the Commissioner.

The Kumaon Commissioner said that the consultancy company has given presentation of the DPR today before the administration.

According to the Commissioner, the consultancy company has prepared the plan to develop parking facilities, approach road, toilets and drinking water facilities, community hall within 2 km radius of the Jageshwar temple complex.

“The parking place will be developed at Aartola, while Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) ASI museum and Kumoan Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) guest house will be modernised. The main gate of Jageshwar temple will be built in traditional pahari architectural style,” said the Commissioner.

The DPR for Jageshwar temple development project is worth Rs 150 crore, informed the officer.

The ‘Adi Kailash’ in Gunji region will be developed with an estimate of Rs  12.87 crore, DPR for which has been prepared.” Under the main works, a ‘Nandi Dwar’ will be constructed near ‘Adi Kailash Dham’ besides a home stay facility for over 60 pilgrims and a restaurant and parking facility.”After these facilities gets constructed in near future, more  pilgrims from country and abroad will be coming, ” said the Kumaon Commissioner.
