Success and happiness are linked with hard work – Dr. Ghanshala
New MBBS session begins at Graphic Era Medical College
Dehradun, September 30
The new academic session of Graphic Era Medical College started today with an induction program. MBBS students from Uttarakhand and different states of the country were introduced to the ideals of the medical profession, discipline, and human values. In the induction ceremony, Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala of Graphic Era Group of Institutions said that hard work is the true mantra of success and happiness.
Inaugurating the program, Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that apart from the financial investment in a child’s education, the biggest investment is the dreams of parents. Parents’ dreams are deeply tied to their children’s success, and students can fulfil them only through dedication and hard work. He said that with every new generation, the status of a family changes, and children’s determination and effort not only bring them success but also become a matter of pride for the country. Life’s joys and successes, he emphasized, are always connected with hard work. Every person’s life is filled with struggles. Students may feel that their schedule is too tight, but every successful person has gone through the same, and even after success, struggles and challenges continue. There is no shortcut to hard work.
Dr. Ghanshala inspired future doctors by narrating the journey of Graphic Era, from its foundation to the establishment of two universities, five campuses, and a 900-bed hospital with a medical college. Sharing the challenges faced in setting up the medical college and hospital, he presented glimpses of the progress made from 2017 to 2023 through pictures. He urged the students to be regular in classes and laboratories, remain disciplined, and stay away from road accidents, drugs, and unwanted cyber activities.

During the ceremony, Chairman Dr. Ghanshala also sang a song for the new medical students and their parents, giving them a glimpse of another side of his personality. Through the lines “Ruk jana nahi tu kahin haar ke, kaanton par chalke milenge saaye bahaar ke…” he left them with a strong message of never giving up.
At the Silver Jubilee Convention Centre of Graphic Era Deemed University, where the induction was held, Director Dr. Puneet Tyagi of Graphic Era Hospital introduced the students to various machines and medical equipment, explaining that the hospital has adopted some of the world’s latest technologies. He informed that the hospital is a pioneer in Uttarakhand for performing TAVI (valve replacement without surgery) and has been recognized as a North India center for this advanced procedure. Renowned super-specialists from India’s top medical institutions are serving in the hospital. Dr. Tyagi reminded the students that the study of medicine is like “an ocean of fire that can only be crossed by diving into it,” stressing that after being selected, now it is their hard work that will truly matter.
This is the second MBBS batch of Graphic Era Institute of Medical Sciences (Graphic Era Medical College). The induction program was also attended by Dean Dr. S. L. Jethani, Medical Superintendent Dr. Gurdeep Singh Jheetay, along with various Heads of Departments and faculty members. Conducting the program, Mr. Aditya Agnihotri highlighted the life, struggles, contributions, and achievements of Dr. Kamal Ghanshala. The new students also toured the university campus today.
