Helicopter service started in Kumoan region

After resumption of air services from Naini-Saini airport of Pithoragarh, helicopter services from Haldwani to Champawat, Pithoragarh and Munsiyari were inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually, today.

“After successful trials from Golapar helipad of Haldwani, the Heritage Aviation company has started helicopter service from Haldwani to these places. The Chief Minister inaugurated the services virtually today,” said Reena Joshi, District Magistrate, Pithoragarh.

The administration has provided all facilities of space, security, fire tender, and other required facilities to the company to run heli services to airport and Munsiyari helipad.” The DGCA has only after that given permission to run heli services to these places,” said the DM.

Champawat District Magistrate Navnit Pandey has said that the helicopter will take off from Haldwani for Champawat at 11.45 am and will reach Champawat at. 4.30 pm.”

“It is due to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi who accepted the request of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to run Helicopter services between the hilly region and Haldwani, in order to increase tourism in remote areas and provide emergency aviation from these remote region,” said Girish Joshi, BJP district chief in Pithoragarh.

Meanwhile, the air services from Pithoragarh to Dehradun by a Fly Big Aviation company’s 19 seater aircraft, that started from February 2, this year, remained discontinued from last three days due to weather conditions.” The air services will be resumed on the route from February 23, and will continue for 5 days in a week in place of three days before,” said Hamid Khan, airport manager of Pithoragarh airport.

According to Nandan Kumar Chief Development Officer (CDO), Pithoragarh, a helicopter of Heritage aviation, carrying lone passenger, Bharat Rawat of Tejam village, reached Munsiyari at 12.32PM and returned to Haldwani with two passengers.” The Helicopter reached Champawat at 2.15 pm,” said Girija Joshi, District Information Officer (DIO), Champawat. The helicopter landed at pithoragarh at 3.45 pm.

Munsiyari residents welcomed the Helicopter services from there to Haldwani and said that it was highly needed service for the region.” It will help increasing tourism to this place besides giving emergency medical services to people residing in this remote part of the district, who will be able to reach Haldwani from Munsiyari in few hours,” said Puran Pandey, a hotelier in Munsiyari.
