In a bid to emulate PM Modi, CM Dhami to hold International Yoga Day near ‘Adi Kailash’

In a bid to emulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is likely to attend the programme on the occasion of 10th  International day of Yoga, on June 21, at Jolingkong near ‘Adi Kailash’ peak view in Dharchula sub-division of Pithoragarh district, the preparations for which are in full swing. Prime Minister Modi had visited the ‘Adi Kailash’ in October 2023.

“We are preparing the ground at Jolingkong, near the spot from where the ‘Adi Kailash’ peak can be seen for the International Yoga day programme likely to be attended by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami,” said Manjit Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Dharchula, who has been given responsibility to make preparations for the programme.

According to SDM, over 250 people are likely to take part in the main function of state on the occasion of International day for Yoga, on June 21.

“We have appealed to the SSB, Army and ITBP officers  for their cooperation on the occasion. The programme could probably begin at 8 a.m on June 21,” said  SDM.

Jyotsana Sanwal, nodal officer for the programme, and Zila Ayurvedic Adhikari, on June 15th, organised a “Run for Yoga’ programme at the district headquarter.” The programme was attended by several organisations as well as the officers who were given different tasks for the successful completion of the programme,” said The Nodal officer.
