UPCL committed to provide smooth power supply in the winter tourist destinations of Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has resolved to provide round the clock power supply to winter tourism destination /pilgrimage places. Anil Kumar Yadav, Managing Director has issued necessary guidelines to all the regional units to ensure smooth power supply in the winter season in the main pilgrimage and tourist places in the state such as Mussoorie, Auli, Lansdowne, Joshimath, Dhanaulti, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Chamoli, Chakrata, Rajaji National Park, Tehri, Devprayag, Chamba, Harshil etc. as well as the winter worship places of the four Dhams. The Managing Director informed that the tourism sector of the state gets a boost due to the movement of tourists / travelers from the country and abroad to the main pilgrimage and tourist places in the state of Uttarakhand during winter.
He further said that it was under the able leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami that the winter tourism sector of the state of Uttarakhand is getting a boost and various efforts are being made by the government to provide better facilities to the visiting pilgrims / tourists.
To provide adequate support to state government efforts , UPCL is monitoring the condition of all substations, HT/LT lines and street lights related to tourist places on a daily basis so that all tourists do not have to face any kind of problem related to electricity and for contingency, arrangements of materials such as conductors, cables, poles, transformers are also being ensured at all the places so that in case of power disruption, power supply can be restored in minimum time.
All the Superintending Engineers/Executive Engineers have also been directed to inspect the 33/11 KV substations and 11 KV feeders coming out of them under their area and to be present in high alert mode. Apart from this, for better power supply, lopping and chopping of trees and branches coming in between the lines should be done on time and availability of all trolley converters is in working condition and is available for any contingency.
