Uttarakhand boxing team could prove to be a dark horse in 38th National Games

“Uttarakhand boxing team is an emerging team and could prove to be dark horse in the boxing competition of the 38th National Games, which are starting at Pithoragarh from January 31,” claimed Bhaskar Bhatt, a former coach of Uttarakhand women boxing team and coach of Uttarakhand boxing team.
Bhatt, a veteran boxing coach also a resident of Pithoragarh district, said that a total of 208 boxers, including 112 men and 96 women boxers from different states, will take part in the National Boxing competitions at Hari Datt Kapri stadium at Lelu near Pithoragarh town.
“The boxing teams of Assam State, Services, Himachal Pradesh, Hariyana and MP have potentials to make advances but the Uttarakhand team could prove as a ‘dark horse’ in the competition,”said Bhaskar Bhatt
The boxing competitions of 38th national games will be held between January 31 to February 7 in Pithoragarh.
The boxing teams from different part of the country have started reaching Pithoragarh to take part in national games.” To welcome the guests, we have made special lighting arrangements and have also done elaborated arrangements of lodging and boarding of the players and accompanying officials. We have also tried to decorate walls all along 30 km long road stretch from Ghat to Pithoragarh, by wall paintings depicting culture and scenic beauty of Soor valley,” said Vinod Goswami, District Magistrate, Pithoragarh.
