Annual Athletics Meet begins at Graphic Era University

Dehradun,  Feb 27                                      The Annual Athletics Meet of Graphic Era University commenced with great enthusiasm today.
The three day Annual Athletics Meet is being held at Graphic Era Deemed University’s main ground. In the athletics meet, 2,500 students will participate across various competitions. The meet features track and field events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m race, relay race, 1500 metre race (boys), shot put and long jump. Today, on the first day 704 athletes competed in 100 metre race, 416 athletes in shot put and 329 athletes in long jump. In today’s events 32 athletes qualified in 100m race, 10 in long jump and 20 athletes qualified in shot put. These selected athletes will compete in the next round.
Despite rain, young athletes displayed unwavering enthusiasm showcasing their true sportsmanship. Spectators including fellow students cheered, boosting the morale of their peers. The athletes who excelled today, will get to showcase their skills in the finals.
