Awareness campaign held on Earth Day

Dehradun, April 22 On World Earth Day, students raised awareness about environment conservation by making creative posters. Diya Khatri secured first position in poster making competition.

Various programs along with poster making competition were organized in Graphic Era Deemed University today. In this slogan competition, nukkad natak, awareness rally and other interesting program were held on the theme of ‘Our Power, Out Planet’. On this occasion, a cleanliness drive was organized in nearby areas. Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Dr. Narpinder Singh along with faculty members and students urged everyone to avoid littering and keep the surroundings cleans.

In the poster making competition Diya Khatri from M.A. English bagged the first position. Pratiksha Panwar from Political Science secured the second position. In slogan competition Nandini Kagdiyal from M.A. English came first and Neha Chand from Psychology department came second. Students performance nukkad natak to deliver the message about planting more trees. Faculty members and students participated in a rally within the university campus to spread awareness about the same.

The program was organized by Graphic Era’s SDG- Youth Engagement Centre (YEC) in collaboration with Department of Humanities and Social sciences and Department of Mechanical Engineering. HoD of Humanities Department Dr. Prabha Lama, HoD of Mechanical Department Kapil Sharma along with YEC Coordinator Dr. Anugraha R. Lall, along with Dr. Bharti Sharma, Sharon Jacon from Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance, other faculty members and students participated in the awareness program.Little kids gave the message of environmental protection

Meanwhile,  On Earth Day, little kids displayed their awareness and creativity towards environmental protection.

Interesting competitions were organized on Earth Day in Graphic Era Global School. This year the theme of the competition is Our Power Our Planet. In this, an inter-house pin board competition was organized among the students of classes 9 to 11. In this, Einstein House secured first, Aristotle House second and Galileo House  secured the third position. In the inter class pin board competition for students of class 6th to 8th, class 7th (A) won. Class 8th (A) came second and 7th  (B) came third. Along with this, the little ones of pre-primary, nursery, LKG and UKG also decorated the school premises and gave the message of water conservation by celebrating Blue Color Day.
