South part of Kailash Mansarowar without snow

Pithoragarh, July 19 The south part of mount Kailash is without snow this year seen by the first batch of Kailash Mansarowar Yatra pilgrims who went through Lipulekh pass. The batch had returned to Dharchula from Tibet in in a day’s time which is historic.The pilgrims of first KM batch, that returned last night.
“It is my second chance to visit Kailash after 2016 when I, visited the holy region first time, in 2016, the South part of holy peak had more snow, but this year it was almost without snow, “said Sanjay Gunjiyal, the liaison officer of the batch.During the months of June and July there is less snow in high Himalayan peaks.”I had visited Kailash in the month of October in 2016, it snowed at advent of winter.”said Sanjay Gunjiyal.
Rajesh Nagpal and Soumya Patel, first batch pilgrims from Rajasthan and Gujrat have also said that they witnessed South part of holy Kailash without snow and other parts in partisl snow.” We almost felt in heaven after visiting Kailash and Manas lake.”said Soumya.
According to the first batch LO, not only Kailash peak but other ever snow clad places like Om parvat and Adi Kailash peak have less or no snow.”it is a concerning symptom from weather change point of view as the peak of Om parvat also witnessed no snow in August 2024
According to weather scientists, it is cause of concern from global warming points of view, as the elevation of Kailash peak at 6638 meters, that used to be under thick cover of snow round the year, has shown less snow over the years.
“even some Nepalese pilgrims, who visited Kailash region in 2022 and 2023 have expressed surprise over un expected no snow on Kailash peak “said Rakesh Tiwari, a resident of Dharchula town.
