Message of Environmental Conservation through Art at Graphic Era University

Artists raised awareness among people about climate crisis and social responsibility through art. For this, a two-day workshop that started today at Graphic Era University.

Addressing this workshop on the theme of Ecology and Human Rights at Graphic Era Hill University today, the founder of Hexxy Duxxy Box, Satandru Sovan Banduri, said that rapid urbanization is impacting the environment, biodiversity, and Dehradun’s traditional agricultural heritage. In such a situation, by taking art to communities, artists can highlight the relationship between humans and nature and reflect changes in ecology. The creative participation of youth is extremely important for environmental conservation and awareness.

In this two-day workshop, renowned artists from countries like the US, Nepal, Laos, and Japan will participate. They will present their work and encourage students to connect with nature through art, understand the importance of the environment, and develop a sensitive approach towards its conservation.

The program has been organized by Graphic Era Hill University’s Department of Fine Arts. The event was attended by the Head of the Fine Arts Department, Dr. Anand Karmarkar, Dr. Mandakini Sharma, Dr. S. K. Sarkar, other faculty members, and students.
