‘Myra Care Foundation’, a platform for empowering those on the autism spectrum
Dehradun, April 1
To mark the ‘World Autism Awareness Day’, today, Myra Care Foundation, powered by Shine Avi Learning USA, has reiterated its’ commitment to work for children under autism spectrum in Dehradun and nearby areas.
Speaking at a press conference held on the occasion, Ms. Anita Thapliyal, Operations Head along with Dr Nishant Nawani and Dr Jaya Nawani, both promoters of the venture, announced that ‘Myracare Foundation’ would in future become a significant vehicle for positive change in the lives of children under autism spectrum and their parents.
The foundation has established a first-of-its-kind holistic learning center in India, dedicated to supporting children on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other neurological and developmental conditions. The center will provide a comprehensive continuum of care under one roof—from early intervention and individualized education to social and life skills development, along with structured independent work systems for adolescents and adults.
Anita Thapliyal who has come from New Jersey, USA said that it was part of the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s visionary initiative on Reverse Migration, and supported by the Pravasi Cell of the Uttarakhand Government, that this effort represents a significant step toward building inclusive and sustainable infrastructure within the state.
She has developed a unique and impactful holistic learning model, built on over two decades of experience in autism education and advocacy. Her work has been instrumental in creating structured, evidence-based programs that empower individuals with autism and other developmental challenges to become independent and reach their full potential.
In a major step toward inclusive education, Shine Avi Publications Pvt. Ltd. will be launching a visual-based curriculum comprising over 2,700 books, designed to provide a modified and accessible way of learning for children who are unable to learn through traditional teaching methods. Shine Avi as a startup is currently being considered for incubation support at Swami Rama Hospital University’s (SRHU) incubation centre, ACIC-SIIC at Jollygrant. Upon onboarding, it aims to scale our efforts and introduce innovative solutions to better address autism. The Shine Avi is also in the process of filing several international IPRs for its proprietary solutions and designs, further strengthening the uniqueness and innovation of its offerings.
She further said that these visual resources are built on the philosophy that if a child cannot learn the way we teach, we must teach in a way the child can learn. The curriculum will be implemented through pull-out resource rooms in mainstream schools, focusing on skill development for children with developmental delays and learning difficulties. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between mainstream and special education, fostering inclusion, confidence, and independence.
Anita Thapliyal hoped that this combined initiative aim to empower families within Uttarakhand, reduce the need for migration to metropolitan cities for specialized services, and create a sustainable, inclusive ecosystem within the state, with a vision to expand across India.
