There is no age to learn: Dr. Kamal Ghashala at Graphic Era’s annual athletic meet

Dehradun, April 7

Chairman, Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that there is no age to learn new skills and at every stage of life, a person can grow and improve by learning something new. The occasion was Graphic Era’s Annual Athletic Meet 2026. In the athletic meet, James Awer, Prerna Thapa, Vijay Negi, and Kritika won the title of Best Athletes from both universities.

In the Annual Athletic Meet 2026 held at Graphic Era Deemed University, 3,272 students from Graphic Era Deemed University and 5,539 students from Graphic Era Hill University showcased their enthusiasm, energy, and sporting talent. During the seven-day event, in Graphic Era Deemed University, the Best Athlete (Boys) title was awarded to B.Tech student James Awer, while in the Girls category, BCA student Prema Thapa secured the title. The Best Department title was won by the BCA department for securing the highest number of gold medals.

At Graphic Era Hill University, the Best Athlete (Boys) title was won by B.Voc student Vijay Negi, while in the Girls category, BBA student Kritika secured the title. The Best Department title was claimed by the Management department by winning several gold and silver medals.

Addressing the closing ceremony of Athletic Meet 2026, Chairman, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that sports keep the body healthy and the mind strong. Such events help in developing sportsmanship, discipline, and self-confidence among students. He added that students of Graphic Era have not only excelled at the national level but have also brought laurels to the country at the international level in sports like skiing, squash, and shooting. Five students of Graphic Era have also represented the country in the Olympics. Indian women’s cricket World Cup-winning team player Sneha Rana is also a student of Graphic Era. Dr. Ghanshala said that in the future, to encourage students towards sports, state-of-the-art facilities, vast playgrounds, and advanced equipment will be provided to offer the best opportunities to athletes.

From Graphic Era Deemed University, in the Boys category, Bhavesh Bhati, Pranjal Rawat, Saurabh Rawat, Aryan Barthwal, Amamaru Bosco, and in the Girls category, Shagun Singh, Prerna Thapa, Lakshmi Rawat, Palwinder Kaur, and Anushka Pant secured top positions in their respective events.

From Graphic Era Hill University, in the Boys category, Mayank, Ankit Rawat, Vijay Negi, Amit, Ankit Kumar, and in the Girls category, Rakshita, Kajal, Anjali, Kritika Kanishka secured top positions in their respective events. International students of Graphic Era also participated enthusiastically in all the competitions.

Chairman, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala awarded medals to the winners for their outstanding performances in events such as 100m, 200m, 400m races, 800m and 1500m races, long jump, shot put, and relay races.
