Glimpses of rich culture of Uttarakhand during silver jubilee celebrations of state at Graphic Era University
Dehradun, November 8
A state-level dance competition was held at Graphic Era on the occasion of the state’s silver jubilee foundation day, here today. In the group folk category, Graphic Era Hill University secured the first position, while in the solo dance category, Dev Sanskriti University stood first.
More than 15 universities from across Uttarakhand participated in the competition, showcasing the state’s rich culture and traditional dance forms. The dance theme was based on Uttarakhand’s culture and heritage, featuring captivating performances in Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari styles that won the hearts of the audience.
In the group folk category, Graphic Era Hill University bagged the first position, Doon University secured the second, and Maharaja Agrasen Himalayan Garhwal University stood third. In the solo dance category, Dev Sanskriti University won the first position, followed by Patanjali University in second place and Sri Devi Suman University in third, with all winners receiving cash prizes.
The state-level dance competition was held at the Silver Jubilee Convention Centre of Graphic Era University. The event was graced by Vice Chairperson, Higher Education Upgradation Committee, Government of India, Dr. Devendra Bhasin, Secretary, Higher Education Department, Dr. Ranjit Sinha, IAS, Secretary, Technical Education Department. Deepak Pandey, Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh, Registrar, Dr. Naresh Kumar Sharma, Associate Dean of Student Welfare and Associate NCC Officer, Dr. (Captain) D.C. Pande, Dr. A.S. Shukla, along with other faculty members and students.
