UPCL to hold block wise camps for convenience of electricity consumers

On the instructions of Anil Kumar Yadav, Managing Director, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), multipurpose camps/mega camps are being organized across the state for the convenience of power consumers, in which all the officers have been directed to give priority to the convenience of consumers and also to get 100% revenue. As per the UPCL officers, through these camps, all the consumers can easily deposit their electricity bills and also get solutions to any kind of problem related to their bills.

The Managing Director has also directed the senior officers to personally attend these camps being organized at the sub-division level from time to time to monitor the progress and ensure that issues like new electricity connection, resolution of problems related to metering and billing etc. are resolved on priority basis. The Managing Director also directed all the Directors and all the officers under them to achieve 100% revenue recovery against the revenue targets as follows:-

  1. The Managing Director, UPCL directed all the officers block-wise to achieve 100% recovery against the revenue target and to organize mega camps/camps in all the sub-divisions and publicize it.
  2. In all the blocks, it was directed to issue notices against the connections with outstanding amount and to recover the previous dues as well.
  3. For the convenience and ease of the disabled, women and senior citizens at all the consumer service centers/revenue collection centers, ensure that necessary action is taken to provide safe and comfortable sitting place, separate line for depositing bills and to resolve electricity related problems on priority basis.
  4. Except in unavoidable circumstances, all officers will ensure revenue collection proceedings by being present at their respective headquarters and the divisions, and sub-divisions with better performance will be honored.
  5. To make the benefits of online services provided by UPCL available to maximum number of consumers, increase the revenue obtained through online medium, establish better connectivity with consumers and make bills available to consumers through SMS, all field officers will run a comprehensive campaign to collect mobile numbers of all electricity consumers in their subordinate area and must ensure that the mobile numbers of consumers are registered in the system.
