Indian Traders to enter Tibet without goods

The 20 Indian border traders to enter Taklakot mart of Chinese territory of Tibet from Lipulekh pass without goods, on August 1, will study the possibility of trade in this season and also take stock of basic facilities for Indian traders constructed in the Mart, Jeewan Singh Rongkali, president of Indian Border Traders Association said from Gunji today.
“After crossing Lipulekh pass at 9,am, our group will reach Taklakot (Purang) mart within an hour and after some rest will first go to our godowns where we had left our unsold goods in 2019, when we had to return back to Indian due to epidemic of Covid,” said Rongkali.
“We will make list of our stored goods and find with the help of Chinese authorities, of which of the goods have expired and needs to be destroyed. We will also assess the need of local clients to find which goods need to be taken from Indian to sell in the mart,” said Rongkali.
According to the president of Indian border traders’ leader, as they have not insured the goods from any of insurance companies of India or China, they will send the list and amount of damaged goods to Indian government with a request for compensation the traders, so they do not incur losses. “The traders have now decided to insure all their goods from 2027,”said Rongkali.
