Vice-Chancellor Prof. Narpinder Singh Elected Fellow of IAFoST
Dehradun, October 27. Vice-Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University, Prof. Narpinder Singh has been elected a Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST). Today, in Hong Kong, President of IAFoST, Prof. Fereidoon Shahidi presented him with the fellowship.
The IAFoST Fellowship is awarded to distinguished scientists worldwide for their outstanding and sustained contributions to research, innovation and scientific advancement in food science and technology.
Prof. Singh was honoured with the IAFoST Fellowship during the World Congress of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST 2026), held in Hong Kong. The fellowship recognises Prof. Singh’s significant research and scientific contributions in key areas, including cereal chemistry, starch science, pulse technology, food biopolymers, plant protein functionality and sustainable food processing. His selection among scientists from 14 countries in the 2026 cohort highlights his international standing in food science and technology.
It is noteworthy that, in the recently released Stanford–Elsevier 2026 rankings, Prof. Narpinder Singh secured the first rank in India in the field of Agriculture and Food Science.
The Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, congratulated Vice-Chancellor Prof. Narpinder Singh on this significant achievement. He said that Graphic Era’s faculty not only meets high international standards but is also recognised by leading institutions across the world. The fellowship awarded to Prof. Singh by IAFoST in Hong Kong today is a testament to this recognition. Recently, 52 faculty members of Graphic Era were included in Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% scientists.
