In a bid to create awareness against the rising incidents of drug abuse in the hills of Uttarakhand , a drug de-addiction cycle rally organized by Himalaya Cultural and Social Program Committee, Almora was flagged off from Kausani by renowned social worker Radha Behen for Bageshwar.
Speaking on the occasion, Radha Bahen expressed concern over the increasing prevalence of drugs in the society and stressed greater awareness to prevent it. The awareness rally started from Almora, reached Kausani on Monday evening. Various social organizations welcomed the cyclists participating in the rally.
Ajay Singh Fartyal, an organiser said that the purpose of the rally is to make the society aware against drug addiction and warned that the increasing drug addiction in the society, is an alarm bell. He said that crimes are happening in the mountain due to intoxication and children including youth are also falling in the trap of drugs. He said that the society including parents will have to be aware about the dangers of drug addiction.
