Deeksha Chauhan wins ‘UPL Ki Aawaz’ sports presenter contest

Dehradun, September 30

The ongoing second season of the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL), being played in Dehradun, has witnessed yet another milestone with the successful conclusion of its much-anticipated sports presenter contest — “UPL Ki Aawaz.”

Launched as a breakthrough initiative by event organizers ‘Sspark Sports and Entertainment’, the contest was designed as a career-defining platform for gifted sports enthusiasts across Uttarakhand between the ages of 18–45. Participants were invited to submit a 30-second to 1-minute video showcasing their presenting skills, with shortlisted candidates advancing to live auditions for a chance to join the official UPL broadcast and social media team on TV and OTT platforms.

Owing to the overwhelming response, the deadline for submissions was extended to 23rd September 2025, and entries poured in from across the state. After a rigorous selection process, which involved shortlisting 10 finalists and testing them on live UPL-based scenarios, the judges made their final choice.

The winner of the contest is Deeksha Chauhan, a 25-year-old local talent from Dehradun. Deeksha impressed the jury with her confident delivery, engaging style, and in-depth understanding of the game, ultimately earning the opportunity to train and work alongside some of the finest presenters and broadcasters in Indian sport.

“On behalf of the entire UPL family, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Deeksha and warmly welcome her onboard,” said Rajeev Khanna, Founder, Sspark Sports and Entertainment. “This initiative was about discovering fresh voices that can bring the spirit of Uttarakhand to sports broadcasting, and we are thrilled with the enthusiasm and talent we’ve seen, ”he added

With hundreds of entries, spirited competition, and the crowning of a deserving winner, the ‘UPL Ki Aawaz’ contest has added yet another dimension to the growing legacy of the Uttarakhand Premier League Season 2.
