Preparations start for ‘Kailash Mansarovar yatra’ in June

Pithoragarh, April 30
‘Kailash Mansarovar Yatra’ in Tibet from Lipulekh pass, for the year 2026, will start from the month of June this year and over 500 Indian pilgrims will be allowed to visit the sacred region of Kailash and Mansarowar in 10 batches consisting over 50 pilgrims in each batch, Pithoragarh District Magistrate Ashish Bhatgai informed this correspondent today.
“It was decided at a meeting held in Delhi on 27th April this year by joint secretary, ministry of external affairs, Government of India with the officers from concerned departments,” said the DM.
The District Magistrate said that the exact date is to be announced by ministry later.
“We have already started preparations for the yatra at our level. The ministry is to decide who will be the nodal agency and how it will be conducted,” said the DM.
