American artist created magic with Preetam

Dehradun, Aug 14                                Padmashri Preetam Bhartwan and American Prof. Stefan Fiol made students dance on the beats of dhol damau in Graphic Era Hill University. Both celebrated artists played Uttarakhand’s musical instruments and invocated students to preserve and continue the cultural heritage of Uttrakhand.

Jagar samrat Preetam Bhartwan gave mesmerizing presentation in the morning along with the professor of University of Illinois, Stefan Fiol and other members of his team. Today’s jagar program was designed by Prof. Fiol which included the Devi jagar, Goril jagar and other jagars from the Garhwal Himalayas.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjay Jasola said that the performance of American artist along with jagar samrat Preetam Bhartwan is no less than  a magical experience. Also it is a proof of the rich culture of Garhwal that has travelled all the way to America.
Padma Shri Preetam Bhartwan thanked Graphic Era for organising this phenomenal program. Team Nandaas’ jagar and team Devasthali’s dance performance was also applauded by everyone.
Uttrakhand’s Cultural Secretary, IAS H.C. Semwal was also present in the program.
