‘Mandalam’ model to be introduced by Uttarakhand Congress to counter BJP

In a bid to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) election machinery of ‘Shakti Kendra Model’ , the main opposition party Congress plan to come up with ‘Mandalam model’ of organisation in the state soon. State Congress. Chief Karan Mahra said in Almora today.

Uttarakhand Congress Chief Karan Mahra talking to media persons at Almora today said ” We are going to form 1170 ‘Mandalam’ in all the 13 districts of the state. These ‘Mandalam’ will work to coordinate between polling booths and the block party organisations..”

According to Mahra, one ‘Mandalam’ will cover 8 to 10 polling booths of a parliamentary constituency.”This model was originated in Telengana and it worked successfully in getting Congress into power in recently held assembly elections in Karnataka and it is being taken up in Uttarakhand Congress as well,” he said.

“Through ‘Mandalam’ model, we are aiming to strengthen our organisation from booth level so that it could counter the ‘Shakti Kendra’ Model of BJP organisation,” claimed Mahra.

The state Congress chief also claimed that a strong wave for change in Uttarakhand is blowing and the people are looking towards to provide alternative to BJP government at the center.

“We are going to win all 5 parliamentary seats in the state in coming parliamentary elections,” he further boasted.

Answering a question, Mahra said that BJP government at center is playing T-20 type game in the name of CBI and misusing central investigative agencies to book  Congress leaders in fake cases.”On other side courts are ordering inquiries into alleged corruption cases of BJP leaders,” said Mahra..

The Congress state chief said that organisation is beginning a campaign to strengthen district level organisation from Devprayag town of Tehri Garhwal from October 30.”All district organisations will be reviewed under this move in order to make these effective for coming parliamentary election of 2024,”he added.
