SHEWA Society organized ‘Sashakt Nari Samman Samaroh- 2024’

Sanjay Orthopaedic, Spine and Maternity Centre, Dehradun, Uttarakhand under the aegis of SHEWA (Society for Health, Education and Women Empowerment) organised “Sashakt Nari Samman 2024’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day, here today.

Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson, State Women Commission, Uttarakhand,  Neha Joshi, National Vice President, BJYM,  Dr. Bipra Vishnu, Medical Advisor, NTEP WHO, Program Chairperson, Dr. Sudharani Pandey, Former Vice Chancellor, Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay, Padma Shri awardee senior orthopaedic and spine surgeon, Dr. Sujata Sanjay, Gynecologist and Obstetrician, Dr. Gaurav Sanjay, Orthopedic Surgeon, Mrs. Bhavana Sanjay and Dr. Prateek Sanjay lighted the lamp to inaugurate the function.

Padma Shri awardee senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay said that women are one half of the society and once they get educated, they will contribute equally to the family, society and nation along with their counterparts. Women’s education not only transforms them into better citizen but also has far reaching consequences for their family, society and ultimately the nation and for the future generations. Dr. Sanjay said that a healthy and educated person can not only do his own work but can also do the work of others as well. . Kusum Kandwal said that whatever responsibility you get, you should fulfil it honestly. And the women should take care of their family first. Special guest of the program, Neha Joshi said that to fulfil the desire of women, at least women should support them.

Another special guest of the program, Dr. Vipra Vishnu said that the myth that there is no TB disease in the mountains is wrong but TB is not incurable but can be treated.

Acharya Dr. Annapurna said that empowerment of women has been going on in our country since the Vedic period.  Dolly Dabral said that the women can play an important role to preserve the culture. Chairperson of the program, Dr. Sudharani Pandey said that no one has as much importance as the mother in building a family.

Gynaecologist and Obstetrician Dr. Sujata Sanjay said that in today’s scenario, women have many responsibilities but women should understand their first responsibility towards their children and family because mother is the first teacher of the child. Orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Gaurav Sanjay expressed his gratitude to all the guests and dignitaries who attended the program. The program was conducted by  Yogesh Aggarwal.The following women were given “Sashakt Nari Samman 2024”- Sharmila Bharatri (Indian classical Odishi dancer),  Dr. Darshani Priya (editor),  Madhu Jain (social worker), Purnima Bisht (journalist), Sheetal Hardev Singh (teacher), Acharya Dr. Annapurna (spiritual teacher), Dr. Savita Mohan (writer), Dolly Dabral (author), Sneha Bhardwaj (graphic designer),  Sandhya Bisht (TV anchor), Dr. Meenu Vaish (gynaecologist), Dr. Mansi Vaish (gynaecologist), Anita Saxena (political activist), Sunita Singh (health worker) and Reshma Shah Jaunsari (folk singer).
