Uttarakhand’s Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay honoured ‘Khan Sir’ with Swami Brahamanand Award

Dehradun, Sept 14

Padma Shri, Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay inaugurated the Swami Brahmanand Award 2024 ceremony organized at Rath in  Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh by lighting the traditional lamp and paying tributes to Swami Brahmanand ji along with special guest Megha Parmar. During the program, Faizal Khan, popularly known as “Khan Sir”, was honoured with the Swami Brahmanand Award 2024.                                                                                                    Chief guest of the program Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay said in his address that change is a universal truth and if we want to bring change in any person, then we have to change his thoughts, for which education is a good, easy and cheap medium. He emphasised, as it is also written in ‘Manusmriti’ that ‘Janmana Jayte Shudra, Sanskaraat Dwij Uchchayate’ which means that everyone is born as a Shudra, but can become an enlightened person through education as it is proved by revered Swami Brahmanand Ji.                                                                Padma Shri Dr. Sanjay said that Swami Brahmanand Ji ignited the spirit of education in Bundelkhand region at the time when people did not understand the value of education. Swami ji believed that poverty will be eradicated only when children are educated and he started a novel mission by spreading an awareness campaign for education from house to house. The work he did is not only commendable but also incomparable which has been acknowledged by the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi who also remembered his works and paid tribute to him. All this proves that he was not only a ‘Sanyasi’ of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh but also a great freedom fighter, politician, social reformer of the entire country. Padma Shri Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay said that it would be a fitting tribute to Swami Brahmanand ji, that we all follow the ideals given by him and fulfill our respective dreams.

During the program, special guest Megha Parmar, who is known as ‘Everest Girl’ said that we should not stop until we reach our goal. Swami Brahmanand Award winner Khan Sir said that Swami Brahmanand was not born but was incarnated. Education is such a weapon whose ammunition never ends and the mission of Swami Ji should be taken forward, he added.

Manohar Singh, Dr. Surendra Singh, Mukesh Rajput, Harcharan Fauji, Narendra Rajput, Dharampal Singh, Rishi Rajput, Devendra Mahan and Ramsajivan Yadav  were present during this program.
