Landlside block Dharchula-Lipulekh road

A major landslide occured at Tawaghat locality of Pithoragarh district. The landslide happened on the Dharchula-Lipulekh road but no loss of lives and property was reported so far, according to  Pithoragarh District Magistrate Vinod Goswami. The landslide resulted into closure of Tawaghat- Lipulekh road that will be opened soon claimed the DM.

“SDM Dharchula and BRO officials have reached the spot and work on opening the main road to Lipulekh, at Indo-China border, is on,” said the DM.

“The landslide, that occured at 11 am today, might probably have caused due to blasting of the road that is under construction above the main road, “said the DM.
