CM Dham flag off three new heli air services launched by Heritage Aviation
Dehradun, March 11
In a major step toward enhancing regional air connectivity in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami virtually inaugurated three new helicopter services operated by Heritage Aviation. These services will connect Dehradun Airport to Naukuchiatal Helipad in Nainital, Haldwani Heliport to Garud Helipad in Bageshwar, and Dehradun Airport to Garud Helipad in Bageshwar. The launch of these routes is expected to boost tourism, trade, and emergency services in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the expansion of air services will significantly improve connectivity to remote areas of Uttarakhand. “These services will bring a positive change to the lives of local residents and make travel more convenient for both locals and tourists, saving valuable time. Additionally, these air routes will serve as a crucial option during emergencies,” he said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, initiated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to connect various regions of the state by air. Uttarakhand’s natural beauty, historical temples, and rich cultural heritage attract visitors from across the country and the world, and these new air services will play a crucial role in strengthening the local economy while promoting tourism. He congratulated the residents of the region and the entire state on the commencement of these helicopter services.
With the launch of these new routes, travel time between Dehradun and Naukuchiatal will be reduced to just 50 minutes. Similarly, flights between Haldwani and Garud Helipad in Bageshwar, as well as between Dehradun and Garud Helipad in Bageshwar, will provide quick and efficient transportation. These services will benefit not only local residents but also tourists looking for faster and more convenient travel options in the hilly terrains.
Heritage Aviation will operate these services using a 7-seater helicopter, ensuring efficient transportation for passengers. These services will also be highly beneficial for emergency response and disaster management. The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is committed to connecting Uttarakhand’s remote regions to the mainstream through air services.
Describing the new services as a milestone for the state, he stated that they will not only promote tourism but also make travel more accessible for local residents. Under the UDAN scheme, the Uttarakhand government is developing 18 heliports, out of which 12 are already operational. The addition of these new services will open new avenues for travel and transportation in the state.
Rohit Mathur, Founder &CEO of Heritage Aviation, expressed his commitment to providing fast, safe, and convenient air travel for the people of Uttarakhand. “This initiative will not only boost tourism but also benefit local residents and business travelers. Our goal is to ensure better air connectivity to remote areas and provide accessible air travel to as many people as possible.
