Pranav wins Graphic Era’s Debathon 2.0

Pranav first in Debathon 2.0
Dehradun, April 7. Pranav Joshi won Graphic Era’s debate competition Debathon 2.0. The chief guest of the program, Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s financial advisor and former chief secretary Indu Kumar Pandey, said that technology should be used to improve the lives of people and to protect the environment and not just for consumption.
Debathon 2.0 was organised at Graphic Era’s Silver Jubilee Convention Centre. In his address at the programme, Mr. Pandey said that messing with nature can be very costly. Every day, we get to see many news and reports which alert the human race to think seriously about the conservation of the environment. Graphic Era Deemed University Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh said that organizing competitions like Debathon helps to develop self-confidence, presenting one’s point of view and skills like public speaking in the students. Students from more than 10 universities participated in Debathon. Among these, in the ‘Kaun Banega Debathon’ winner competition, Pranav Joshi (B.Tech CSE, 6 Sem, GEU) got first place, Aman Rawat (B.Tech CSE, 2nd Sem, GEHU, Dehradun) got second place, and Ansh Chugh (B.Tech CSE, 4th Sem, GEHU, Bhimtal) got third place. Nilakshay (B.Tech 4th Semester, GEU) and Smriti Pandey (B.Tech CSE, 4thSemester, GEU) got the first place in the ‘Charcha’ competition, while Nimish Vyas (B.Tech CSE, 6th Semester, Dehradun) and Nikita Kandpal (B.Tech Biotech 6thSemester, GEU) got the second place.
The programme was organised by the Department of Management Studies and Debating Society in collaboration with Department of Commerce, Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, Quizzing Community and Youth Parliament Society.
