Team Algosappers won cash prize of 1.7 Lakh rupees at Grpahic E Thon finale
Dehradun, 23 April: At Graph E-Thon, young scientists developed a device that can convert brain signals into MRI scans. A prototype of the device was created in the two-day and two-night nonstop competition. Along with this, an app for providing information on medicinal herbs and a device to strengthen defense systems were also developed.
In this exciting technical contest held at Graphic Era Deemed University, students created several innovative prototypes. Young scientists from 26 states worked continuously for 48 hours to develop these prototypes. Their unique ideas won them cash prizes worth lakhs of rupees. On the final day of Graph-A-Thon today, Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh said that every student who participated in this marathon of innovation, coding skills, and determination will leave with valuable learning. The experience and expert feedback gained here will inspire them to do better in the future. Their inventions will play a significant role in the betterment of society.
All teams were given a chance to pitch their ideas. The students showcased their innovations like professional enterpreneurs in front of the judges. Team Algosappers-6.0 from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Mubarakpur Mukhtiya (Uttar Pradesh), bagged the title of Graph-A-Thon 2.0 winner. Team members Tanishk Jaiswal, Abhijeet Jadhav, Md. Faizan, and Nihal Pandey created a device that converts brain signals into MRI scans. This device will help patients to detect neurological disorders without the use of heavy machines.
The second prize was secured by Team Mindbend from Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology, Pauri. Team members Tisha Gaba, Tiya Gaba, Rahul Malkani, Neha Malkani, and Mayank Saini developed a low-cost prosthetic limb. This lim (hand) is made of carbon fiber that will help patients to carry out everyday tasks with ease. Graphic Era Deemed University’s Team Resqvision secured third place. Team members Abhay Raj Yadav, Archisha Ghanshani, Swastik Sharma, Tanisha Chauhan, and Vansh Sharma created a robot that will prove to be a useful tool in delivering relief materials to victims during earthquakes, forest fires, and flood like disasters. Using drones, the robot can quickly reach affected areas and provide medical kits and other essential resources.
The winning team was awarded a cash prize of 1.7 lakh rupees. The second and third place holders received awards worth 1.5 lakh rupees and 1.25 lakh rupees. The top 7 best performing teams were also honoured. These teams included Team Netra, Team Cyber Knights, Team Hackhorizon, Team Care Coders, Team Kivy, Team Avinya, and Team Pikapool. To encourage female participation in technology, Kashish Verma, Ishika Tyagi, Harshita Pokhriyal, Aishwarya Dole and Archisha Ghanshani were honored with the Women Innovator Award. Team Cyber Knights was awarded with the Eco Sustainability Award for developing an AI-based donation platform.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh and Pro- Vice Chancellor Prof. Santosh S. Saraf presented the winners with trophies and medals. Expert judges Senior Architect at Persistent Systems Dr. Ravi Tomar, HOD of the Anesthesia Department at Graphic Era Hospital Dr. Gurdeep Singh Jeete, and Operating Partner at Elev8 Capital Anil Taneja reviewed the prototypes and selected the winners.
Graph-A-Thon 2.0 was organized by the Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of Graphic Era in collaboration with Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University. TBI’s Chief Executive Officer Sarishma Dangi, Incubator Manager Harshvardhan Singh Rawat, faculty members, and students were present in the valedictory session.
