Padma Shri Prof. Sanjay Inaugurates My Yuva Bharat Programme in Dehradun

Under the aegis of ‘My Yuva Bharat Dehradun’ (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India), an Inter-District Youth Exchange Programme was organized at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Dehradun. The programme is being conducted from 24 January to 28 January 2026, with the participation of 37 youth from Udham Singh Nagar district.
The theme for the year 2026 is “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – Culture, Dialogue and Cooperation.” The objective of the programme is to familiarize young participants with the culture, dialects, traditions, and social values of different districts, thereby fostering national integration, social harmony, and mutual understanding.
The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Padma Shri awardee, educationist, author, orthopaedic and spine surgeon, and Chairman of AIIMS Guwahati, Prof. Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay, and Guest of Honour, environmentalist and social worker Avdhesh Sharma, in the esteemed presence of Deputy Director, My Yuva Bharat Dehradun, Monika Nand, and Programme Assistant Pravesh Singh Bajwal, by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offering floral tributes before the portrait of Goddess Saraswati.
On this occasion, Monika Nand and Pravesh Singh Bajwal felicitated the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour with mementos, shawls, and bouquets. Monika Nand also briefed all participants about the programme framework, objectives, and planned activities.
Addressing the youth, Guest of Honour Avdhesh Sharma spoke on environmental conservation and the history of bonded labour, emphasizing the role of organized efforts in combating social evils. Chief Guest Prof. Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay sensitized the participants through his poem “The Greater the Speed, the Greater the Loss,” highlighting the critical importance of road safety and strict adherence to traffic rules. He stressed the need to introduce driving training in schools and administered a road safety pledge to all participants. Prof. Sanjay also highlighted his contributions in advancing complex orthopedic and spine surgeries.
The event was attended by former National Youth Volunteer of My Yuva Bharat Udham Singh Nagar Muskan Chawla, National Youth Volunteer Tanisha Chawla, Arun Kumar, Arjun Yadav, Shivaswami, Pooja Verma, and other participants.
