Free engineering diploma & hotel management training for poor at Graphic Era University

Graphic Era University has announced free diploma courses in engineering and hotel management training for children from economically weaker families in Uttarakhand. This announcement was made by Chairman of the Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, during the Republic Day parade, here today.
After hoisting the national flag at Graphic Era Deemed University and taking the salute of the NCC and NSS parade, Dr. Ghanshala addressed the gathering. Referring to the freedom struggle and the sacrifices of Uttarakhand, he said that to fulfil the Prime Minister’s dream of making India a global leader by 2047, the country must take the lead in the manufacturing sector. He emphasized continuous research and the commercial application of new innovations, and called for efforts to advance manufacturing and modernize agriculture along with the service sector.
Dr. Ghanshala stated that many youths in Uttarakhand enter the hotel industry without any formal training, due to which they have to start from the lowest level. To address this, Graphic Era has planned to provide training to such youths to improve their prospects and help them move forward. Under this initiative, youths from poor families in Uttarakhand will be offered a free one-year hotel management course in Dehradun and Haldwani, including industry training. Additionally, children from economically weaker sections will be given free diploma courses in engineering at the university campuses in Dehradun and Bhimtal. This initiative will benefit those students who are deprived of quality technical and professional education due to financial constraints. He also announced a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh for the NCC and NSS contingents in appreciation of their excellent parade performance.
Earlier, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Narpinder Singh highlighted the unique features of the Indian Constitution and called upon everyone to work to their fullest potential to take the nation forward in every field. The program was conducted by Dr. M. P. Singh.

Dr. Rakhi Hoisted the Tricolour at Graphic Era Hill University
At Graphic Era Hill University, Vice Chairperson of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr. Rakhi Ghanshala, hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the parade. Dr. Rakhi Ghanshala said that Republic Day reminds us not only of our rights but also of our duties and responsibilities.
While addressing the Republic Day Ceremony, she said that India has proved that unity in diversity is not merely an ideal but our greatest strength. Today, India is playing a leading role in digital innovation, space science, green energy, meaningful culture, and global diplomacy. In building this national strength, the role of education and higher educational institutions is extremely significant. Progressive and visionary institutions like Graphic Era are shaping the future of the nation through knowledge, research, and innovation.
Dr. Rakhi said that Graphic Era not only provides quality education but also promotes value-based education, leadership abilities, and social responsibility. She administered a pledge to teachers and students to imbibe the ideals of the Constitution—justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity—and to play an active role in nation building.
During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit R. Bhatt highlighted the importance of Republic Day and the freedom movement. Vice Chairperson of Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr. Rakhi Ghanshala announced a reward of one lakh rupees for the NCC cadets for their splendid parade and ₹15,000 for students for their melodious patriotic song performances. The programme was hosted by Dr. Himani Binjola.
