All seven Indo-Nepal border bridges closed due to parliamentary polls

Pithoragarh, March 3
Keeping security during general elections of ‘Pratinidhi Sabha’ (parliament), in neighbouring Nepal on March 5, Indian security forces deputed at border bridges in this district, sealed all 7 bridges in lower elevation and one bridge at higher elevation on this part of Indo -Nepal border.
“We have closed suspension bridges, situated at Indo-Nepal border of Jauljibi, Baluakot, Dharchula, Malghat, Rongti, Gasku, Jhoolaghat, and high altitude situated Sita Pul, from midnight on March 2, up to midnight of March 5,” said a Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB) officer manning the border in Pithoragarh
According to SSB sources over 3000 people of Nepal passed to and fro these bridges every day before the bridges were closed.
“ Enthusiasm was seen amongst Nepalese voters for elections, mostly young generation voters, who are voting in this general election of Nepal,” said Karan Badal, a youth from Hikla, village of Darchula district of far western Nepal, who has also reached to vote in his village.
