‘Echoes of the Mountain’ wins Best Film Award, short film festival ‘Himpravah 2.0’ at Graphic Era University

The Short Film Festival at Graphic Era Hill University created quite a buzz as young filmmakers from across the country showcased their talent on screen. The short film ‘Echoes of the Mountain’ emerged as the winner, taking home the title of Best Film.
The two-day festival featured more than 50 short films and documentaries from different corners of India. Films like ‘Masaan’, ‘Niyati’, ‘Vikram and Betal’, ‘Echoes of the Mountain’, ‘Anandi’, ‘Moksha’ and ‘Satyavirupan’ were screened. These films beautifully portrayed diverse themes such as mythology and folklore, science and society, climate change and development, and India’s rich cultural heritage.
The highlight of ‘Himpravah 2.0’ was the magical open-air cinema experience, where audiences enjoyed the beauty of cinema on the big screen under the starlit sky.
During the closing ceremony of Himpravah 2.0, awards were given to the most outstanding films and documentaries for their storytelling and cinematic style. The film ‘Pralay’ won the award for Best Documentary. The title of Best Actor (Female) went to Khushi Routela for the film ‘Shakti’, while Om Noonwal won Best Actor (Male) for ‘Stambh’. Urkhiyal received the awards for Best Director and Best Original Music Score. In technical categories, ‘Ammi’ won Best Cinematography, and ‘The Other Side of Lake’ received the award for Best Editing.
‘Himpravah 2.0’ was organized by the Department of Media and Mass Communication, Graphic Era Hill University. The festival saw the presence of film producer Arun Kumar Bais, filmmaker Shashwati Talukdar, Santosh Rawat, director and actor K. Ram Negi, actor and lyricist Manu Rishi Chadha, Head of Department Dr. Taha Siddiqui, Dr. Himani Binjola, Dr. Aakriti Dhondiyal Badola, Girja Shankar Semwal, Vipul Tiwari, Sandeep Bhatt, along with several faculty members and students who enjoyed the cinematic celebration together.
