Prof. B.K.S. Sanjay delivers talk on road safety at Gujarat University

Dehradun, Feb 1

Padma Shri Prof. (Dr) B. K. S. Sanjay a leading orthopaedic surgeon gave lecture on road safety at Gujarat University, one of the oldest and largest university of the state. He was invited by vice chancellor of Gujarat university Prof. Neerja Gupta as a guest speaker.

During his talk, Prof. B.K.S. Sanjay said, that behaviour, knowledge and skills are the keys of secret of anyone. He appealed to the students to give importance to improve the behaviour because most of the day-to-day problems and conflicts are being caused due to misbehaviour which can be easily sorted out with the good behaviour.The behaviour plays an important role in every profession whether highly skilled or non-skilled, he added.

On occasion of a month-long national road safety campaign, Prof. Sanjay also gave a radio talk on road safety in All India Radio, AIR, Bhuj. He explained that the nation is paying a high toll of road accidents in terms of human and economic loss which can be prevented if people follow the simple traffic rules. Drinking and driving and using mobile phones while driving is working as the major causes of road traffic accidents.

Dr. Sanjay said that during his Gujarat visit he had driven to Dholavira which is Indus Valley civilization archaeological world heritage site and the road is known as a road to heavens. Padma Shri recipient orthopaedic surgeon Prof. B. K. S. Sanjay appealed to the drivers to learn and follow the traffic rules. He said that any driver after seeing the scenic beauty around ‘Road to Heaven’ and Kutch Lake will have the temptation to drive fast and to overtake others therefore he appealed to the all the drivers to drive carefully and not reckless to put their own and others’ lives at stake.
