The Neonatal Department of Graphic Era Hospital organized ‘Newborn Week’ and ‘World Prematurity Day’, starting from today. Its aim is to improve the lives of premature babies and their families and provide them with a healthy and strong future. Professor Girish Gupta emphasized on the basic care of the newborn and the disadvantages of giving ‘Janma Ghutti’ and ‘Gripe Water’ to the newborn. Professor S.L. Jethani emphasized on the importance of care given to the newborn in the first minute of life and reducing the neonatal mortality rate.
Dr. Divya Mishra of the Gynecology Department shared information on the importance of prenatal care of the mother and transport of the fetus in high-risk pregnancies. On this occasion, the children born in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit along with their parents also attended the function. Program coordinator Dr. Shantanu Shubham said that during this one week, topics related to the care, safety and future of premature babies will be discussed and they will also be examined.
