Grand Voter Awareness March by ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ on National Voters’ Day

Dehradun, January 25

On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Uttarakhand, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, organized a grand Voter Awareness March. The march commenced from Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun, and proceeded through the Air Force Camp and Mahant Indresh Mothrowala Market area. More than 800 volunteers enthusiastically participated in the event.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Padma Shri Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay, Chairman, AIIMS Guwahati. The distinguished guests included Vice-Chancellor Prof. Napinder Singh, Dr. Amit Bhatt, Dr. Amal Shukla, Avadhesh Sharma, Dr. Aditya Harbola, Lieutenant Mohit Singh (NCC), and Ms. Monika Nandal, Deputy Director – MY Bharat.

The guests honoured first-time young voters by presenting them with badges. Subsequently, Dr. B.K.S. Sanjay administered the voter pledge to the youth by forming a human chain and formally flagged off the march. During the procession, volunteers sensitized citizens about the importance of voting and conveyed a strong message to uphold democratic values.

A group of 37 youth participants from Udham Singh Nagar also actively took part in the march. The event was organized under the theme “My India, My Vote” and concluded at the Graphic Era campus.

In the end, Rahul Dabral, Deputy Director, expressed gratitude to all the guests and volunteers. On this occasion, Pravesh Singh Bajwal, Vijay, Subhash, Sonia Rawat, along with the MY Bharat Dehradun team, were also present.
