‘Padma Shri’ awardee Prof. B. K. S. Sanjay is the only orthopaedic surgeon of Indian origin whose name has been included in list of 23 change makers in the world in the thicket book in the world. His name has been selected in the thickest book in the world which has been awarded by Guinness.
It has been a matter of great pride for India and the Uttarakhand state that such a versatile personality of Prof. B. K. S. Sanjay’s name has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records for the second time. Prof. B. K. S. Sanjay is a leading orthopaedic surgeon based in Dehradun who has been honored with a Guinness Certificate at the prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on December 3, 2023.
Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay has already entered his name in Guinness Book of World Record for successfully operating a 16.5 kg thigh bone tumor which was 45 centimeters long with 30-centimetre width, in year 2005. Prof. Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay has visited 45 countries in the quest for gaining and exchanging his knowledge in the past three decades . He has presented his clinical research in dozens of reputed research journals of the world. He has written more than 100 guest articles on health, education and nutrition during his professional career.
He has saved hundreds of limbs and lives by his surgical skills. His name has been mentioned in Guinness and Limca Book Records for his outstanding surgical contributions. He has also organized more than 200 free health camps, public awareness lectures and written many articles on various health and social issues in newspapers and magazines. His name has also been mentioned in India and International Book of Records.
Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay is not only a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon but he is a multi-faceted person being a poet and writer. A collection of his poems has also been published by Bharatiya Jnanpith and Vani Prakashan, two years ago for which he has been bestowed upon with Kavya Bhushan Award. Dr. Sanjay is the swachhata brand ambassador of Municipal Corporation Dehradun under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
