Uttarakhand recruitment exam paper leak Issue reaches ‘Ramleela’

The paper leak scandal continues to dominate public discourse in Uttarakhand, with both cultural platforms and street demonstrations amplifying the voice of angry youth demanding justice.

The ongoing outrage over the UKSSSC recruitment paper leak in Uttarakhand echoed dramatically on the stage of a Ramleela performance in Bageshwar. During the staging of scene of Janak Darbar (King Janak’s court), artists used satire to highlight the controversy, drawing loud applause and laughter from the audience.

In a scene of Sita’s ‘Swayamvar’ (marriage contest) was being enacted with various kings showcased their strength to won Sita’s hand, one performer, playing the role of a king, humorously remarked,  “Everything is fine in Lanka, but there has been troubling news from Uttarakhand where recruitment exam paper has been leaked.”

The witty dialogue instantly resonated with the audience who responded with cheers and claps.

The UKSSSC (Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission) graduate-level exam, held on 21 September, was reportedly leaked in Haridwar. This has triggered widespread anger among unemployed youth across the state, sparking protests, rallies, and demands for cancellation of the exam.

In different  places like Bageshwar, Berinag ,Almora, Chamoli the angry unemployed youth took to the streets to  protest shouting slogans against the state government. The protesters warned of an intensified agitation if the examination was not immediately cancelled. The protesters said that despite strict anti-cheating laws, repeated paper leaks are “shameful and unacceptable,” jeopardizing the future of thousands of hardworking candidates.
