Reshma Panwar to be SUCI (communist) candidate from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, March 19

Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), a left party has decided to contest the Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat in the forthcoming general elections. Dr. Mukesh Semwal, secretary of Uttarakhand state unit of SUCI(Communist) speaking to media persons ate Srinagar Garhwal said that SUCI(Communist) will contest on 151 seats in 19 states and three union territories across India. He further announced that Reshma Panwar, a student activist will contest from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat on behalf of the party in Uttarakhand.

Dr. Mukesh Semwal said that the anti- working class policies under the past decade rule of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made life miserable for  common people. He called for the defeat of the present NDA government by the general masses in the elections.

He further said that India Alliance a combination of Congress, left and other regional parties have posed as an alternative in the forthcoming electoral battle but have the same economic policies of exploitative capitalism.

He said that SUCI ( communist) upholds the banner of the revolutionary left and building up people’s movements against anti-people policies of the government. “We are not part of ‘India Alliance’ as it just want to replace BJP in the electoral process. We strongly believe that both these parties, namely BJP and Congress in Uttarakhand are destroying the beautiful state by implementing policies which are harmful to ecology, society and culture,” he said.

Introducing Reshma Panwar as a party candidate from Pauri Garhwal, he said that she is a well educated  who had been in the forefront of people’s movement in the state and would uphold the issues of common people. “As a student leader of All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), Reshma Panwar  has participated in  various student movements in Srinagar Garhwal. We appeal to all like-minded concerned citizens to support Reshma Panwar in this Lok Sabha election,” said Dr. Mukesh Semwal.
