Books are the medium to transform the thoughts: Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay

Dehradun, April 22

 Padma Shri Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay has said that books are your best friends, whenever you want their company, they are with you and fulfill their duties and responsibilities without any binding of time and circumstances. He was speaking at a programme organized, on the occasion of World Book Day on Sunday by Sanjay Orthopedic, Spine and Maternity Center Doon Vihar, Jakhan, Rajpur Road, Dehradun. The program was inaugurated  by the chief guest Lok Sabha MP and former Union Education Minister and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ along with guest of honor Swami Brahmadev, founder president of Aurovally Ashram, environmentalist Padma Shri Kalyan Singh Rawat, UCOST Director General Prof. Durgesh Pant, Prof. Puneet Kumar Bisaria of Jhansi University and organizer of the program Padma Shri orthopaedic surgeon Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay.

Dr. Sanjay further said that authors die after writing but their books remain immortal like scriptures Ramayana, Mahabharata, Quran, Bible, Guru Granth Sahib, Agama and Pitika etc. “When we read a book, it seems that we are having a direct interview with the author and this feeling makes authors immortal along with the writings”, he said  and requested paarents and guardian to inculcate the habit of reading to their children since childhood.

Chief guest Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that the books play the immense role in our lives. “Whatever we are today, wherever we are, it is all because of books. We speak as we think and we do as we speak, so think well, do well and be well,” he said.

Guest of honor Swami Brahmadev, said that no matter how many books we read, the biggest task is to read our life. Understand yourself, know yourself and try to find yourself. Life develops only through books, so keep reading. Dr. Yogendra Nath ‘Arun’ said that books are your best friends, provided you know how to choose. Today, there is a need to save values and culture and I am sure books will make an important contribution in doing this work.

Dr. Sudha Rani Pandey said that books influence our mental, ideological, intellectual and theoretical thoughts. Prof. Priyadarshan Patra said that we should read ourselves and inspire others to read. Shri Vishwamber Nath Bajaj said that religious books have an important contribution in our lives.

The program was conducted by  Yogesh Aggarwal. Orthopedic and spine surgeon Dr. Gaurav Sanjay expressed his gratitude to all the guests, speakers, students, all the employees of the organization, journalist and all the dignitaries present in the program.
