Graphic Era’s Bicycle Rally to celebrate Independence day

The Independence day celebrations at Graphic Era deemed university started with a grand bicycle rally ‘Tiranga Yatra’ (Freedom Ride) by the officials, faculty members and students to convey a message of unity and development on August 14,2024.
Uttarakhand Medical, Health and Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat flagged off the rally. On this occasion, he encouraged youngsters to come together and contribute for development of the nation. Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that the country is currently setting new heights of development on the international stage and to accelerate this progress it is crucial for youngsters to come forward and dedicatedly work towards its growth.
This rally was led by Chairman of Graphic Era Group of Institutions Dr. Kamal Ghanshala and Vice Chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala. On this occasion, Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala said that it is important to inform the new generations about freedom and the struggles done for it. Remembering the sacrifices of great freedom fighters and fulfilling our duties towards the nation and society is necessary for making India prosperous again. For this, maintaining a healthy mind and body is also essential.
The cycle rally started at 7 am from Graphic Era’s ground and after traversing from Saharanpur road, Niranjanpur Mandi, Patel Nagar, Saharanpur chawk, Prince chawk and Darshan Lal chawk before reaching the Pavilion Ground. In the pavilion ground, Sahil gave a moving performance on patriotic songs which made some people emotional. Shreyash’s song was also well received. After a brief stop at pavilion ground, the rally returned to the university campus and concluded. Participants who rode their bicycles in this 20 km rally included Chairman Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, Vice Chairperson Rakhi Ghanshala, Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Hill University Dr. Sanjay Jasola, faculty members, students and young members of Pahadi Pedallers. Vice Chancellor of Graphic Era Deemed University Dr. Narpinder Singh, Registrar Dr. D. K. Joshi, Registrar of Graphic Era Hill University Dr. Arvind Dhar and other officials were also present in the program.
During the Graphic Era’s celebration of independence, students from 27 other countries also participated. These foreign students first clicked photographs with State’s Medical, Health and Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, and also participated in the cycle rally covering 20 kilometres with full enthusiasm. The students from 27 countries including Liberia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Lesotho, participated in the rally.
